Our unequalled range of gypsum based mortars are manufactured in the UK, in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Certification and Product approvals from Underwriters Laboratories Inc (UL) and Factory Mutual (FM), assuring consistency of product from one batch to the next.
Our mortars are also approved for use in London Underground (LUL approved).
They are suitable for load bearing use, and other special situations requiring pressure resistant, acoustic and radiation shielding performance. Our mortars have been extensively tested at Independent Fire Test laboratories in UK and USA to British, European and US Standards, to both Cellulosic and Hydrocarbon Curves including, Hose Stream and Large Specimen Fire Tests.
The Company has also made significant investment in acoustic and load bearing testing of FIRECRETE Mortar seals in walls and floor openings. This includes a unique long term programme of Structural Testing at London South Bank University Concrete Structures Laboratory, which enables us to predict failure loads and mode of failure for our mortar seals in typical floor slab openings.
Our current range of mortars comprises:
Firecrete Std is a general purpose fire stopping mortar, with proven load bearing capability, for sealing mechanical and electrical service penetrations through walls and floors. UL approved
Firecrete HS has a much higher compressive and flexural strength, suitable for large span floor openings such as service risers and for fire sealing around unsupported fire dampers through walls. FM Approved
Firecrete HD is a very high density mortar comparable to heavy concrete, with excellent load bearing capability, together with exceptional acoustic rating and nuclear shielding performance. It meets US Nuclear Industry Spec and has been independently assessed by RWE Nukem, Harwell, to determine Gamma Ray Transmission factors.
